What happens when 4 good friends get hungry after a day’s work and want to grab a bite late at night?

They visit the newest eatery in town! We went to Prithvi Art Gallery…and Yes we ate there. The concept is unique and very well developed. As you can see in the pictures, it’s a space inspired by art. The lighting, ambiance, garden space, the well decorated and stocked book shelves are a delight.

When were told, it’s an open space…we were skeptical. I mean who wouldn’t be…in 46 degrees, all you want is the chill of an AC. But we were pleasantly surprised when a nice cool breeze, of course with the help of some coolers, welcomed us at PAG. The place was already packed and we waited few for more seating to be arranged.

The menu is well designed. It’s not usual cafe fare, it is definitely more elaborate than some other artsy cafe’s in Ahmedabad. The mocktail and fruit bar are another thoughtful addition for the health conscious.

We ordered the following

  • Mango Smoothie
  • Kiwi and Lime Margarita
  • Fresh Orange and Pineapple juice
  • Orange Mojito

We liked them all! Although…none of the drinks were cold enough and we had to request some ice. I specially recommend the Kiwi margarita.

For food we ordered

  • Tomato and Lettuce Sandwich
  • Greek Pizza and
  • Pasta aglio olio

The bread and base need a special mention, the Focaccia multi-grain bread was very good indeed and so was the crisp pizza base. Both these were nice and complemented the food well.

The pasta…was SPICY and we couldn’t have more than a few bites. The chilly from red pepper and garlic overpowered every other taste. I did notice the whole-wheat pasta but the taste was lost in the spice. A big minus only on this one.

The last thing we ate was the Fruit trifle and it saved the day! The deliciously light creamy fruit delight was the highlight of the dinner. Highly recommended…before and after the meal if you have a sweet tooth and don’t care about the cream much.
