Prawns with honey mustard dip


  • 6 jumbo prawns
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 lemon
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • 2 tbs all purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste

The dip:

  • 1 tbs dijon mustard
  • 2 tbs honey

Get some nice Jumbo prawns, we got ours at Magson, really fresh. Clean, de-vein the prawns and dry them with a kitchen towel or tissue. Crush some garlic cloves and shop some lemon peel into fine little pieces. Now squeeze the lemon into a bowl large enough to hold all the prawns, add the lemon peel, crushed garlic and the olive oil. Add the prawns and toss it all together. Take some all purpose flour, coat the prawns lightly with the flour and shallow fry all the prawns till golden brown, appox. 5 minutes.

To make the dip, simply mix 1 tbs of dijon mustard and 2 tbs honey. Simple but exquisite.

All that’s left to do is garnish, serve and eat hot.
